Strawberry jam
This is a simple and delicious strawberry recipe. You can use gariguette strawberries, charlotte strawberries or any other variety of strawberry. It is a quick recipe because strawberries are very easy to prepare.
Ingredients :
- Sugar: 750 gr
- Strawberry: 1000 gr

- To get a good strawberry jam, you need to find very ripe strawberries. The more naturally sweet the strawberries, the better your jam will be.
- Carefully wash the strawberries by using a colander under running water and drain them.
Remove the stalks of the strawberries. - Place the strawberries in a Jam Cauldron (a pressure-cooker or a large saucepan are also fine), add the sugar and mix well.
- This step is optional: You can let the strawberries and the sugar macerate overnight (approximately 12 hours).
- The cooking: Bring the strawberry and sugar mixture to a boil and maintain for 20 minutes by stirring regularly.
- After 20 minutes of cooking, reduce the heat a bit and do the cold plate test to check if the cherry jam is cooked. (This test is to put a drop of jam on the cold plate, if it stays, it is ready!)
Preparation of jars: Ideally, the jam jars and the lids should be scalded. Then, let dry before filling the jars. - Now that the jam is ready, you can fill the jars. Pour the jam into the jars, close them and turn them upside down. Wait until the jam is cold to store them.
For those who like it, a vanilla bean can be added at the beginning of the recipe before they are macerated.
